Intermediate Samba (Wednesday)

Overview:

For dancers with basic Samba experience seeking improvement. Learn bounce action, body rhythm, joint coordination, and Samba musical characteristics.

Course Objectives:

• Practice essential bounce actions

• Coordinate hips, ribs, and center for wave-like movement

• Express Samba syncopation clearly in music

• Demonstrate Samba rhythmic structures (e.g., SQQ, QQS, cross rhythm)

Class Structure:

• 15–20 minutes physical conditioning

• 10–15 minutes basic step practice

• 10–15 minutes technique explanation

• 15–20 minutes music practice

• 15–20 minutes choreography breakdown

• 1–2 minutes review and recording and review
