Beginner Rumba (Friday)

Overview:

For absolute beginners and novice dancers. Master basic Rumba movement, rhythm, and foundational leg and foot techniques.

Course Objectives:

• Master basic Rumba steps

• Understand fundamental rhythm

• Develop leg and foot control

• Build balance and posture

• Perform a short combination smoothly with music

Class Structure:

• 15–20 minutes physical conditioning

• 10–15 minutes basic step practice

• 10–15 minutes technique explanation

• 15–20 minutes music practice

• 15–20 minutes choreography breakdown

• 1–2 minutes review and recording and review

Rumba (Tuesday)

Overview:

Open to all levels. Learn weight transfer coordination, hip action, and correct use of ribcage and back to achieve characteristic Rumba body motion.

Course Objectives:

• Master Cuban motion with hip rotation and settling

• Apply balanced and controlled weight transfers

• Coordinate ribcage and back action for fluid movement

• Improve musical timing and expression

• Build confidence through short choreography

Class Structure:

• 15–20 minutes physical conditioning

• 10–15 minutes basic step practice

• 10–15 minutes technique explanation

• 15–20 minutes music practice

• 15–20 minutes choreography breakdown
